The missing persons investigation into Archie Klatos is officially reopened as of this morning.
The time for answers is long overdue.
The Chagrin PD would be inclined to agree, given their announcement this morning regarding one of their most embarrassing unsolved investigations. "It is with great priority we announce the investigation into the disappearance of Archie Klatos will commence once more," stated an enthused Gordon Milford. "There is too great a trail of residue to sweep it and be done with it. We have to go where that trail leads us, as is the duty of any legitimate investigative officer of the law."
“There is too great a trail of residue to sweep it and be done with it.”
His last statement is quite the declaration, given the intense scrutiny on the department in light of this investigation's historic implications. This represents more than a routine job for Cuyahoga County's top men: it represents an opportunity for them to redeem their past failures.
History has been repeating itself lately...
When Klatos first disappeared, it was immediately followed by murmurs and whispers that led to misinformation and incompetence on the part of Chagrin's police force. In the end, acting so quickly on this murmured momentum was their fatal mistake in attempting to solve this case.
They have a chance to repair history... but only a chance.
Because once again, there are murmurs and whispers. This has led to more misinformation, and who knows what incompetence on the part of Chagrin's police force. In the end, acting so quickly on this murmured momentum is exactly what led to their failure in the first place.
But we cannot afford another failure for answers.
The time for answers is long overdue.
